McCain heads to Sterling Heights Sept. 5
STERLING HEIGHTS — Sen. John McCain plans to rally in Sterling Heights Sept. 5, directly on the heels of the Sept. 1-4 Republican National Convention in Minnesota, where he’s slated to accept the Republican nomination for president.
McCain will appear at the amphitheatre at Freedom Hill County Park, flanked by his vice presidential running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, during an event starting at 5 p.m., said Sarah Lenti, communications director for Victory ’08.
“The interesting thing about it is, it’s the first rally after the Republican National Convention,” said Lenti. “It’s significant; it shows the importance of Michigan.”
Doors open at 3 p.m. Lenti advised members of the public wishing to attend to visit McCain’s Michigan Web site at www.johnmccain.com/mi for more information on obtaining free tickets.
The Web site provides a list of McCain’s Michigan Victory offices and links allowing visitors to RSVP for the Sterling Heights event.
Questions also can be directed to the Victory offices, two of which are in C & G Newspapers’ coverage area.
